More About Me
Hello!
I'm Madison, the founder of THRIVE Tutoring. I am an avid reader and writer, a travel junkie, a dog mom to two adorable rescues, and an amateur record collector.

I have graduated from the University of Waterloo with two Bachelor of Arts degrees. I have one degree in Honors English with a specialization in digital communication and a minor in Speech communication. My second degree is in Psychology with a minor in legal studies. I am TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certified.

Teaching has been an almost compulsory aspect of my life, ever since elementary school when I started lining up my stuffed animals to teach them what I had learned at school that day. First and foremost teaching, to me, is entirely a helping profession. It is a job that puts the needs and goals of others before anything; a job where the perks lay in the nod of understanding, the high-five from a goal reached, or the smile from newfound confidence and knowledge.

Since my days standing in front of my stuffed animals, I have had the rewarding work experience of being an English teacher abroad in both China and South Korea, a tutor at Strong Start - an organization for children with learning difficulties - and a Writer at Blueprint Magazine. With over five years of professional teaching and tutoring experience, I am confident that the skills and knowledge earned will aide me in helping you or your child reach your goals.
